St. Michael CYO Track & Field and Cross Country
The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) track & field program takes place in the spring, with practices starting February 1st and activities continuing through the Diocese Championship Meet in mid-May. The program is for young athletes in third through eighth grades in the Livermore area. We compete in the Diablo Valley Catholic League, which is Section 1 of the Oakland Diocese CYO. 2021 Track Season
We hope that CYO Track and Field will be back for the Spring 2021 season, but we do not yet know if that will be possible. League officials will be meeting in mid-February to evaluate the he situation, and we will post an update here when we know more.
The team is open to all children in grades 3-8 that live in Livermore or attend St. Michael or St. Charles. Grades K-2 can participate with permission. Children can participate in running (50, 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1600) events, field (long jump, high jump, shot put, softball throw) events, and relays (4x100, 4x400, sprint medley).

2019 Cross Country Season Wrap Up
The St. Michael CYO cross country team finished the 2019 season with a dominating performance at the Diocese Championship meet October 18 at Crown Beach in Alameda. St. Michael took home three of four team championships as well as two individual wins.
In the girls grades K-2 race, Sophia Enrique was 8th for St. Michael.
In the boys grades 3-5 race, St. Michael was first led by Gabriel Heule (1st), Noah Lloyd (7th), and Dylan Walker (15th).
St. Michael was also first in the girls grades 6-8 race behind Jana Barron (2nd), Evelyn Ruckmann-Barnes (3rd), Kerrigan Sauder (6th), and Mia Lnenicka (7th).
Finally, the grades 6-8 boys won their race paced by Alek Schade (1st), Adrian Gomez (4th), Holden Hoffman (8th), and Seth Warren (12th).
